CM106 - Creating a Compliant Culture: Do's and Don'ts
This course is designed for campus management and employees at all levels seeking a better understanding of creating a compliant culture in today's regulatory environment. It summarizes the importance of creating a culture that aligns with regulatory oversight as the cornerstone of an organization. A synopsis is provided on the interwoven relationship of the Triad with emphasis on the Program Integrity rules. This course also explores the "Do's and Don'ts" for communicating with students throughout their education whether it is during enrollment, financial aid, education or career services. Additionally, specific sections provide management with a more comprehensive review of Program Integrity rules and how they impact faculty and staff interactions with students.
Module 1: Adhering to Professional Standards - Comprehend and adhere to institutional ethical standards.
- Recognize why compliance serves as a foundation to exceptional customer service.
- Explain regulatory oversight.
- Identify the consequences of non-compliance.
Module 2: Enrolling with Integrity - In concert with federal regulations, follow specific do's and don'ts when recruiting students.
- Recognize areas of potential misrepresentation to help assure compliant communications with students.
- Recognize permissible language and what you should and should not say as it pertains to student interactions.
- Describe the impact of competitive integrity.
- Explain compliant compensation methods.
Module 3: Presenting Information Clearly - Identify key areas in catalogs, websites, and other publications that are subject to compliance requirements.
- Explain disclosures in a clear and compliant fashion.
- Describe why program expectations and outcomes are important to your school.
- Identify the restrictions specific to referencing graduate employment.
- Develop an understanding of how to present faculty qualifications.
Module 4: Marketing Compliantly - Identify specific rules to be followed to ensure compliance in advertising and marketing communications.
- Recognize what is and is not acceptable in social media and networking.
- Adhere to Do Not Call guidelines.
- Utilize the CAN-SPAM guidelines in preparing communications.
