CM301 - Compliance Training for Texas School Directors
This course provides school administrators (including School Director, Executive Director, Campus President, Dean of Education and senior campus managers) in the state of Texas a working knowledge of the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) rules and regulations for career schools and colleges. This course covers all aspects of operations and compliance for administrative-level staff. The how and why details in the areas of Admissions, Administration, Financial Aid, Education and Career Services are covered in a user-friendly, multi-sensory environment that allows the participants to test themselves on compliance issues that are faced on a daily basis. Participants are advised to review the TWC rules and forms via the internet, throughout the course.

Module 1: Overview of Career Schools and Colleges - Become familiar with the history and purpose of the Texas Workforce Commission
- Obtain understanding of the Representative standards
- Understand School Director and Director of Education duties and requirements
- Comprehend the Instructor application process and Instructor requirements
Module 2: The Application Process - Understand the differences between a New Program, a Program Revision and a Seminar
- Recognize and watch for common errors in completing an application
- Understand the fundamentals of the applications
- Successfully complete a New Program, Program Revision, or Seminar Application
Module 3: School Policies and Requirements - Identify basic elements of acceptable advertising for career schools and colleges
- Understand general admission policies and necessary required forms
- Develop an understanding of applicable policies for student attendance and academic progress
- Identify when a full student refund is required and understand applicable refund policies and terms
Module 4: Recordkeeping, Reporting and Complaint Resolution - Set up a binder(s) with required documents for site visits
- Understand Enrollment and Outcomes Reporting requirements
- Implement proper reporting procedures
- Execute the application process for the Renewal of a Certificate of Approval
- Understand the Adverse Actions associated with not meeting established deadlines and requirements for the Renewal of a Certificate of Approval
- Implement a Complaint Resolution process that is fair and equitable and results in ongoing student satisfaction
- Establish knowledge of the Closed Schools process and the Tuition Trust Account
- Develop a comprehension of the purpose of Exemptions and how to report Unlicensed schools.
